Spring has sprung

29/3/11

Loads to be done now that spring has sprung, this week we had 3 adult helpers and 11 children, and they all worked very hard.

One group set about trying to level the ground in preparation for the floor of the new eco friendly recycled greenhouse. It was a messy job but we finally placed some pallets creating a floor.

Another group scoured the ground for bricks and boulders to balance the pallets and secure the entrance beam of the greenhouse frame. We also had to water all of our flower pots and beds as well as the fruit trees and bushes because of all the beautiful sunshine we've had!!!

The third group built the flat pack shelving units and place them in the greenhouse and then we transported some of our seedlings we had planted inside out to their new home in the greenhouse.

The grounds are really looking great, the daffodils are on full bloom and the living willow structure is starting to show some new shoots!

All the hard work is starting to pay off! Thank goodness for that!!!

Speak to you all next week

Spring is March-ing In 1st March 2011

Hurray! Spring is March-ing in!

It's official! The worst of the Winter blues are over and we’re skating fast downhill into longer, warmer days. Bulbs are bursting into life all around the school grounds.

We spent today sowing lots more seeds and set three types of potatoes to chit for the next two weeks- Rocket, Smile and British Queen.

The first two are for a Potato Council Competition and the latter for our general use.
